Barry has more than 40 years experience in the finance industry, in a career that has seen him work both sides of the track as both a lender and a finance consultant.

Barry started with PSIS in its early days, going on to become a Branch Manager and then Wellington Regional Manager for the Society. He later joined Pye Limited in Auckland (financing electronic goods the company sold) and then Philips associate company Amalgamated Finance when it took over Pye Limited. After that I started my own brokerage here in Auckland one of the first in New Zealand calling it Western Financial Services, says Barry.

After running his own company successfully for 15 years, he was asked in 2003 to set-up the Henderson branch for Western Bay Finance, where he remained for more than three years before joining First Rate Mortgages Limited.

A place Barry loves to visit is Paris. Fluent in French, he has visited the city several times and plans to go back for the pleasure of experiencing the people, the food, wine, the culture and the history. Barry is a keen golfer and has four children and ten grandchildren.
