Mortgage Broker - Registered Financial Adviser
Kim is an expert in arranging mortgages, home loans, and commercial finance with both bank and non bank alternative lenders, and has in-depth knowledge and experience in mortgages and finance, with a National Certificate in Financial Services (Financial Advice) (Level 5) in both Residential Property and Insurance Advice.
Kim Lyons has 23 years of experience in banking with ANZ Bank, and 17 years of experience in Auckland as a mortgage broker. His previous position, prior to the global recession, was as a founding director of one of New Zealand's fastest growing mortgage broker operations, New Zealand Mortgage Finance Ltd.
A family man with two grown-up children, Kim has now moved from his home office to commercial premises in Orewa with his support team. Kim and his wife have been living in Orewa for just over five years, having moved from Auckland's North Shore. They love the awesome beach, plus still having easy access to the motorway so can get his clients quickly. While Kim still enjoys working with his Auckland clients, he is excited about the amount of residential new builds in the Orewa / Millwater / Silverdale area, and sees some great opportunities to help new home buyers and investors nationwide, with low deposit new builds or construction finance, especially with the restrictive Reserve Bank rules on deposit amounts.
Kim has a passion for helping people arrange mortgages, and enjoys meeting clients to help them achieve their dreams, or in these challenging times, finding solutions that their bank manager or current mortgage broker may have said were impossible.
Many of Kim's existing clients first approached him for home and investment property finance over 17 years ago when he worked for a bank. This is Kim's preferred way of doing business, building long-term relationships and seeing people move from being first home buyers, to raising kids, then buying bigger homes, then looking at helping their grown-up children buy or build a first home or rental property.
First Rate Mortgages Limited has been established to bring together a highly experienced team, so you can tap into and use their skills and experience that have been gained from working in banks and finance-related industries. Too many mortgage broker firms recruit people from non-related trades, and after a two week course allow them to gain experience practicing on you the client. Often you will be unaware at the outset that they have very little experience in arranging mortgages, home loans, or commercial finance here in New Zealand.
Kim has also now launched a new website focusing on providing information and helping clients with non bank loans, home loans, mortgages, construction finance, and commercial finance. This is to help his clients with alternative bank finance options.
